A thumbnail is a preview image that represents your video. It can help visitors understand what the video contains and encourage them to interact with it, especially when the video is used with a call-to-action (CTA).
By default, the first frame of the video is used as its thumbnail. You can replace the default thumbnail with a custom image or select a different frame directly from the video.
Change the Thumbnail from the Site Editor
You can change a video's thumbnail directly from the Site Editor.
Open the Site Editor and select the video tile.
In the left editing pane, locate Thumbnail.
Choose one of the following options:
Default from video – Uses the video's default thumbnail, usually the first frame.
Custom Image – Uses an image of your choice. You can upload an image or select one from the Media Library.
Frame from video – Selects a specific frame from the video to use as the thumbnail.
After selecting an image or video frame, use the cropping tool to adjust how the thumbnail appears within the tile.
Save or publish your changes.
Change the Thumbnail from the Media Library
You can also update a video's thumbnail directly from the Media Library.
Open the Media Library.
Find and select the video you want to update.
In the right editing pane, select Change Image.
Choose a frame from the available video frames.
Adjust the crop if needed, then save your changes.
Tip: Choose a thumbnail that clearly represents the video's content and keeps important visual elements within the crop area. This helps ensure the thumbnail looks good across different screen sizes and layouts.
