Using copy-and-paste shortcuts can be a big time saver, but the formatting could give you an unwanted surprise. The shortcut Ctrl + V copies the text and it's formatting at the same time, meaning that when you paste the text elsewhere, it will take on the same formatting as the original.
The shortcut Ctrl + Shift + V (Cmd + Shift + V on Mac) is also called “keep text only” or “paste plain text”. The Paste Text Only shortcut allows you to copy and paste text from one site to another without having to manually remove the source formatting like font size, type, or background color. This will paste just the text you’ve copied.
How to paste plain text or paste without formatting
Select a range of text that you want to copy.
In your site, place the cursor on the text tile where you want the text to appear.
Press Ctrl + Shift + V (Cmd + Shift + V on Mac). on your keyboard or you can right-click on the text tile and choose "Paste and match style". Notice how the pasted content matches the neighboring text formatting, rather than preserving its original font size, color, etc.
