Adding alt texts to your content makes your site more accessible, optimizes your site for SEO, and gives text descriptions when assets fail to load or render.

Zoomforth allows you to add alt texts for all assets right in the site editor, as described in this article, and in the Media Library. Any changes made to the alt text in the site editor are not reflected in those assets in the Media Library or are on other published sites.

In the same way, changes made to the alt text in the Media Library do not affect the alt texts for the same asset in the site editor.

Alt texts only get displayed on a site if the asset fails to load or render, and can be added to all grid section elements except for form and web preview tiles.

Check out our article here on how to write effective alt texts.

To add alt texts for an asset the site editor:

1. Click the target grid element.

2. Click the ALT TEXT field in the left editing pane.

3. Add, or edit, the alt texts.

4. Click outside the field.
